How buying works
There is no checkout on this site, and that is deliberate. Here is exactly what happens instead, and how your money is protected while it does.
- 01
You ask about a piece
Every listing has a WhatsApp button and an email link, both carrying the piece reference so we know exactly which object you mean. Ask anything — more photographs, the exact colour in daylight, whether it will suit a particular wall or wrist. We reply within 12 hours and usually much sooner. Kathmandu is UTC+5:45, so a message sent in the European or American evening is answered the next morning.
- 02
We confirm the piece is still there
Nothing here sits in a warehouse. Each piece is held for us by the workshop that made it, and we complete the purchase when you order. So the first thing we do is check it is still on the bench and still in the condition we photographed. If it has gone, we say so immediately and show you what else has come in. We would rather lose the sale than take money for something we cannot send.
- 03
We send a secure payment link
When you are ready, we send a payment link — Stripe or PayPal, your choice. You pay by card or from your PayPal balance, on their page, not ours. We never see your card number, and we will never ask you to transfer money to a bank account. If anyone claiming to be us ever does, it is not us.
- 04
We photograph it again, then ship it
Once paid, we collect the piece, photograph it a second time as it is packed, and email you those images before the parcel leaves. It ships by DHL Express within two working days, with duty and import tax already paid, so there is nothing to settle with the courier. You get a tracking number the day it goes.
How your money is protected
You pay on Stripe's or PayPal's own page, never on ours, and we never see your card number. Both give you the right to dispute the charge with your card issuer if the piece never arrives or is not what we described.
We will never ask you for a bank transfer, a Western Union payment, cryptocurrency or a gift card. If a message claiming to be us asks for any of those, it is not us — forward it to [email protected] and we will tell you.

Questions people ask
Why is there no Buy button?
Because every piece is a single object still sitting in the workshop that made it, bought only when you order it — that is what keeps it one of a kind and keeps the maker paid at full price. A checkout would promise certainty that real objects in real rooms cannot give: you could pay for something sold that morning. A short conversation costs you a few minutes and means we never take money for a piece we cannot send.
Is it safe to pay this way?
You pay through Stripe or PayPal, the same rails used by ordinary online shops, and both give you the right to dispute the charge with your card issuer if the goods never arrive or are not as described. That protection is the reason we use them. We will never ask for a bank transfer, Western Union, cryptocurrency or a gift card, and any message asking you for one is not from us.
What if it arrives damaged?
Send us a photograph and we refund the full amount including shipping. Everything is packed for the journey and insured, and we would rather refund you quickly than argue about a parcel neither of us can see.
What if I simply do not like it?
You can return it within 14 days of delivery for a full refund of the item price, under UK consumer law. Return shipping is yours unless the piece was damaged or not as described. Because each piece is unique we would much rather answer your questions properly before you buy, so ask as many as you like.
Will I be charged customs or import duty?
No. Duty and import tax are calculated and prepaid before the parcel leaves Kathmandu, and the price you agree is the price you pay. Nothing is owed to the courier on delivery.
Do I have to use WhatsApp?
No. Every piece page has an email link that carries the same reference, and you can use the contact form instead. WhatsApp is simply faster for sending photographs back and forth.
